Sourcing Information: Guatemala Antigua Bella Carmona is sourced from Hacienda Carmona, a farm located near the city of Antigua within the department of Sacatepéque, Guatemala. Hacienda Carmona is owned and operated by Luis Pedro Zelaya, a fourth generation coffee farmer, and his family. Coffee produced in the Antigua region has a protected designation of origin (PDO) because of Antigua’s renowned coffee reputation. With over 100 years of family knowledge and a formal education in agronomy, Luis Pedro has the unique ability to bring tradition and innovation together. For example, at the coffee mill it is easy to see traditional fermentation processes being implemented, while at the same time, cutting edge drying techniques practiced in a recently constructed solar dryer with three tiers of drying beds and sensors to precisely manage temperature.
